The artwork section at Goodwill locations is one of the areas that, in my opinion, does not receive the hype it deserves. As a result, most of the artwork in my apartment is secondhand and purchased from Goodwill retail locations. I even bought an Audrey Hepburn-inspired piece in New York City years ago and brought it back on the train because I loved it so much.

My apartment does not have a specific color scheme or theme; however, black, white, and gold are the most prevalent colors. Whenever I find items with that scheme, I gravitate to it. The DC New York Ave location has their artwork in the back of the store and can catch your eye as you walk in the entrance.

I was immediately drawn to a large piece of art and bee-lined to the back of the store for it. It read Fashion Rules This House, which is a true statement for me. I checked for any imperfections and holes and put it into my cart. It was so huge that it did not fit completely in the cart.

I was so excited and satisfied with my find, I checked out and took my purchase home. It was an amazing deal for $19.99. The wall over my couch has gold polka dot stickers (thrifted from Goodwill, of course), which would be the best place for the artwork to go with the polka dots. It is now housed over my couch as a gentle reminder of how important fashion is in my space!

Thrifted artwork from Goodwill always delivers. Check out the artwork section at any Greater Washington Goodwill locations, and don’t forget to round up for educational purposes!
