I absolutely love this time of year, from putting up festive lights to baking gingerbread cookies. Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year. I usually decorate my entire house and I love hosting holiday parties. Let me share with you a few of my favorite things I thrift during the holiday season.
I purchased a total of 8 picture frames in all different sizes and styles and spent less than $25 for all of them. If you have a special photo or memento, you need framed, Goodwill is a great place to start!
The Holidays are right around the corner, and you’re hosting at least one gathering this year! What do you do?? Make a trip to Goodwill, that’s what! I recently visited a new Goodwill I’ve never been to before, The Edgewater Location in Maryland. They have everything you need for hosting this holiday season.
Nu, if you know me here and/or elsewhere, you know I adore the seashore. And that includes thrifting seashore-themed things, for myself and others. And I don’t think I have to tell you there aren’t a lot of shopping days left until the Winter holidays. Or that thrifted gifts are the best gifts – especially because you save your money and our Earth while supporting great causes. My family and I celebrate Chrismukkah. I don’t currently give eight nights or 25 days of gifts to anyone, but sometimes it feels like it. I’ve always loved gift giving, but whew.
To spice up my thrifting excursions, I love a good challenge! I’ve ventured to Goodwills across the country, limited my budget…and on a recent fall visit to the North Rockville location (one very close to where I live), I limited my time spent at the store! In fifteen minutes, I challenged myself to speedily seek finds that I without a doubt, wanted to buy. Not items that I wanted – treasures that made my heart flutter.
It’s been a spooky October at my house. October is hands down my favorite month in the fall season. I was yearning to watch classic nostalgic movies this month. Spooky, scary, vampy, psychological thrillers is what I was looking for. I was visiting my family one day in Woodbridge, VA and decided to stop by the Goodwill. This is one of my favorite locations. For those that don’t know, I lived in Woodbridge for 7 years before moving to DC so it was one of the stores I would frequent often.
This month, I’m going to talk about dragons! As I did here last November. I identify with, love and collect them. And I was born in a Chinese Year of the Dragon (1976). A couple few times a year, I have a Dragon Day on my social media, where all my posts are dragon-themed. I also have Lizard Days – including alligators and crocodiles.
