People know Goodwill as the place to go for cool fashions and housewares. I usually find shoes, a dress or accessories, but I never thought to find second hand cooking tools and books for an easy week day meal.
Summer time is here and we know what that means it’s officially “cookout and pool season”. For those of us in the DMV the last couple of days have proven that this summer will be hot (literally) , grossing high 90 degrees hot.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve discovered that I love having quality essential pieces in my closet. Items that can be worn through all seasons, year after year, are ultimately the most-worthy of coveted drawer space.
The outfit I was going to wear came together piece-by-piece in my head. I knew I wanted to wear faux leather shorts and duster. I wanted to look like I was chilling at the pool, but not getting in the water.
I had tapped into a rare space where I could find great quality clothing and then get the pieces tailored at a very reasonable price much lower than purchasing at a retail store and then getting them tailored elsewhere!
If you enjoy warm weather then you’re probably excited like I am that finally, colder temperatures are now behind us. When I think of warmer weather, I automatically think of summer vacations. So, after touring the production area, I went on the hunt to search for essential travel items. I was very optimistic that I was going to walk away with what I exactly needed because I’ve seen amazing pieces other bloggers have discovered at DC Goodwill.
