The artwork section at Goodwill locations is one of the areas that, in my opinion, does not receive the hype it deserves. As a result, most of the artwork in my apartment is secondhand and purchased from Goodwill retail locations.

My mantra is to always be prepared rather than scrambling for things needed. This can also be applied to thrifting. Honestly, I find that when I go thrifting looking for a specific item, I never find it. Stay open-minded while thrifting!

One of my good friends has amazing home decor skills, and I noticed she has a lamp with a hanging shade in a corner of her house. It gave me the inspiration and I put it on my Goodwill wish list. While browsing at the DC New York Ave location, the perfect lamp was sitting among the lamps in the home section. I tested the lamp to ensure it works and dug it to the checkout line.
