My mantra is to always be prepared rather than scrambling for things needed. This can also be applied to thrifting. Honestly, I find that when I go thrifting looking for a specific item, I never find it. Stay open-minded while thrifting!

Over the summer, I participated in a Finding Your Good meetup event at the Gainesville, VA Goodwill, which is always a blast. Their shoe selection does not disappoint.
Not only did I find a variety of ballet flags for the Fall season, but I also found a new pair of Sorel snow boots in my size. Now you may think scoring new snow boots in the summer heat is wild, but imagine scrambling to find snow boots when the snow finally hits. I was prepared for the snow and ice that came in January to the DC area.

Sorel boots are known for handling rain, snow, and rugged weather. The pair I found is known as the Caribou Waterproof boot. They include a recycled felt lining, which is removable if needed. The boots retail for $225.00; however, I got a great deal on the pair I found for $39.99! Can you believe that?

Remember to keep your eyes open year-round to find great finds that will be useful in later months. Stay dry and warm a shop Goodwill!
