That’s right, there’s a Lighthouse Month and Day. On August 7th of 1789, Congress approved an Act for the Establishment and Support of Lighthouses, Beacons, Buoys and Public Piers. In 1989, for the 200th anniversary of that Act, they began to establish National Lighthouse Day. Enlightening, eh?

If you know me, you know I love shoes and consider myself a shoe maximalist. Therefore, I have over 100 pairs of shoes in my collection. Most of my sneakers are kept in shoe boxes or individual plastic containers. However, I prefer to keep my sandals and boots in large storage containers. Plastic containers also work for me because I have to keep shoes on my balcony, and they are weatherproof and have stood the test of time.
