I always keep an open mind when I walk into any nonprofit Goodwill location, so I am pleasantly surprised with the finds that find me. As I walked into the DC New York Ave NE location, I found two luxury handbags waiting in the accessories area. That particular store has gems hidden in plain sight if you take the time to peruse the aisles and shelves.
The first handbag I spotted for a hot pink bucket bag that turned out to be from Rebecca Minkoff. The brand is described as an accessible luxury brand that uses quality materials, but its price point is positioned to be more affordable than high-end brands. The color is great to sport for the Summer months or as a pop of color any time of the year. The shape was flattened, but I am sure I can add an old t-shirt to bring the bucket bag back to life. It is a total steal at $9.99.
The second handbag I found is a natural tweed and metallic silver Frankie crossbody bag from Anthropologie. Anthropologie is characterized as a bohemian, eclectic, and vintage aesthetic. It has a gold chain that allows me to mix metals with any outfit. This bag was also a steal at $4.99!
All in all, you’ll never know what you will find until you show up at Goodwill. Let the goodies find you!
