I’m sure many of you have an office party come up, and are asking yourself, “What the heck am I going to wear that’s fun yet appropriate?” I know I’m in this predicament and have a lot of ideas going through my mind but luckily, there are many accessible looks and trends that we can all take some cues from this season.

I was searching around the net, and stumbled across these three looks I might copy or rework for an upcoming office event. Which ones are calling your name?

The Basic Statement Dress

Lupita Nyong’o is a fashion queen! Of course we need to take cues from her. <3
I love fun dresses that embrace a good rich color aspect like this one, but yet keeping it simple and clean for the shape and style. That way, the dress is pretty safe and doesn’t fit too weird or in the wrong places, yet is still fun and will trigger conversations.
Plus, this type of dress is a canvas for fun and playful glitzy accessories and shoes. You can dress it up or down depending on your type of workplace.
The only downside to this type of dress is that because it’s one color, if you spill something on it, the stain will be very obvious.

Sequins are Timeless

Sequins are classic and every year holiday dresses are created in this material. Multiple people at your office party might be wearing sequin dresses and there’s no reason you shouldn’t as well.

But if you want to stand out, try rocking a sequin dress arranged in an interesting pattern or in a maxi style! Also, your sequin dress doesn’t have to be all sequins. It could only be a panel on on a small portion of the garment. I know these styles are harder to come by but they can certainly be spotted and scored at Goodwill.

Turtlenecks

After perusing multiple sites, I think it’s safe to say that turtlenecks are all the rage this season. So why not wear one to the office party? They can look fancy and formal depending on how you style them.

As you see, they can be styled under dresses and statement skirts to look more interesting and luxurious.
I would also dare to wear a turtleneck with slick leather pants or slacks and heels. Possibly even wear a black one with a statement coat?

The possibilities are endless. And whichever one you choose, it will be very office appropriate.

Which of the above looks are you more likely to try rocking at this year’s holiday office party?
