An opulent October 2023, my fellow gifted thrifters and thrifty gifters!  Second month of Fall, Tishrei and Cheshvan of 5784, LGBTQ+ History Month, second half of Latinx Month!  Month of Sukkot, Indigenous Peoples Day, Pronouns Day, Intersex Day, and Halloween!

This month, I’m going to talk about dragons!  As I did here last October, and the previous November.  I identify with, love and collect them.  And I was born in a Chinese Year of the Dragon (1976).  A few times a year, I have a Dragon Day on my social media, where all of my posts are dragon-themed.  I also have Lizard Days – including alligators and crocodiles; in my view, lizards are wingless dragons.

Nu, because so many people love dragons, thrifting dragon items can be quite competitive and otherwise challenging.  But the size of the dragon fandom also means there’s a huge quantity, quality and diversity of dragon items on the thrifting market.  I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by the many fabulous dragon items I’ve seen and thrifted, offline and on – including at Goodwill of Greater Washington, and ShopGoodwill.com.

Let’s look at the best dragons I’ve seen on DC Goodwill’s Shop Goodwill site this year.  And try the immersive experience trend at the same time.  First, we’ll give ourselves some dragon-themed aromatherapy – with The Kiss Of The Dragon perfume.

Then we’ll get dressed.  Well, partly.  But if you wear both of these at the same time, please be very careful when walking or rolling around.

Now it’s time to put on some jewelry.  Nu, if you’re me, it’s always time to put on some jewelry.  And we have three pendants, a ring, and two brooches to choose from.

Well!  I could talk about dragons all day.  But I don’t want this post to, well, drag on.  So, meet me back here next month, and I’ll tell you about my most recent visit to my local Goodwill!  In the meantime, may the rest of your October overflow with thrifty treats.
