Eileen Fisher has been designing contemporary clothing and accessories with a modern, yet classic, twist for multiple decades. She mostly experiments with neutral tones, but occasionally mixes in bright colors into her seasonal collections.
Today’s #MyGoodwillFind is an ash gray, oversized, long-sleeved cardigan by Eileen Fisher in a size medium. The cardigan itself is made of cotton and polyester and is a tad snug in the sleeves when worn. The front cascades down instead of your traditional button up cardigan.
Most of her clothing in traditional stores retails for $50 to $500+. An item like today’s #MyGoodwilFind originally sold for $150+. But you can score it for a bargain!
For layering I would wear an oversized cotton black top underneath, or would go for a band or graphic tee to add edge. For bottoms I’d opt either for a pair of black leggings or solid tights paired with a leather skirt.
By black leggings I don’t just mean plain ones. You can have a little fun and find a leather paneled or velour textured pair at Goodwill. Whatever keeps you warm while stylish.
If you choose to wear a skirt and hose combo you don’t need to just wear plain sheer tights either. Play around with some fishnet or patterned textures! The options are endless.
Finally, to top off the look, add black booties and a plethora of accessories. My office gets a tad cold so my go-to neck piece would be a big, cozy, black, chunky, infinity scarf. However, to still maintain my blingy glam side, a pair of modern angled earrings would do the trick.
For handbags, I usually carry a laptop to work, so a structured black leather handbag would be the most practical style for me. But for an evening look, a shiny patent leather or soft black clutch would be convenient, yet still contemporary and trendy.
