Earlier this fall, we talked about our 18th Annual Trade In Event in guest posts.  Now are thrilled to share the results of this event.

Once again, we had a tremendous response, with a large number of garments brought in as Trade In items.  These garments were then donated to Goodwill of Greater Washington, where they were featured on the Goodwill of Greater Washington’s online shopping portal.  The net sales generated are then reinvested into Goodwill’s workforce training programs.

Additionally, the Trade In event included a 5% cash donation to Goodwill of Greater Washington.  This year the donation totaled $11,757!

Trade In Event Results in Huge Donation to Goodwill

Janece Kleban, VP of Development, accepts check, on behalf of Goodwill, from David Eisele, founder of Davelle Clothiers.

This donation will provide 440 hours of comprehensive hospitality and security sector training, as well as job search and career retention support to local unemployed and underemployed individuals.

As a small business owner, it means a great deal to me to provide such events that benefit both our customers and the community.  I’d like to express my continued thanks to my staff, customers, and to our great partners, Goodwill of Greater Washington, for making this event such a success!
