At this  year’s NYFW, many high-end designers have made statements about the types of handbags women should sport in their 2016 looks. While many were tame (snakeskin print), some are a little more out-of-the-box and unusual.
I’m all about a good statement piece, but some of these styles might not be the most practical.

1.) The Tiny Handbag
On the runways, I’ve been seeing the appearance of really tiny handbags paired with loud outfits.
While I LOVE it when I am able to carry a small handbag with my ensemble, it is definitely a rare occasion. I have a tendency to carry my whole life with me when on-the-go, so rocking a miniature purse is very impractical.
If I’m taking my car out, sure, this would work. But if I’m going to spend a whole day out, this small handbag would be a wallet in my tote.

2.) Bold Graphic Bags
Graphic printed bags aren’t really new per se, but the prints on the runway this season were incredibly unique….almost like wearable works of art.
To find fun prints at any store, I’d especially look for Kate Spade. She’s always known to play with shapes and prints, unlike a lot of other labels. Marc Jacobs experiments with fun prints as well, from time to time.

3.) The Circle Handbag
I’ve seen many circle handbags sold at stores, but the NYFW ones are particularly eye-catching and unique.
While I don’t think this trend i practical in terms of carrying all your belongings around, this shape surely makes a statement.
What do you think of some of these upcoming handbag trends? Do you sacrifice practicality for style?
