Fall is my favorite season for getting dressed. The season’s fashion is great for layering with sweaters, leggings, boots, and my favorite sweatsuits.

Over the years, sweatsuits have evolved from high school gym to couture items seen on runways. Locally based companies show their creativity with their designs on sweatsuits.

One must-have brand is called The Museum, a black-owned business based in Washington, DC. Their mission states they “provide a luxury intimate non-traditional retail experience through art and fashion to the coolest, hippest city in America.

While I was at the Annandale, VA Goodwill location, I found a sweatsuit from the Museum in the men’s section. I love the bright colors and the details, including the jogger leg and zippers.

Typically, a sweatsuit can retail for around $80.00 per piece. However, I was able to score each piece for less than $8.00. That’s 90% of the retail value! It is in great condition, and I get compliments each time I wear it. I also like to wear it in other cities while traveling. It’s a conversation starter to share that the piece is made in DC!

The temperatures will continue to drop as we go into the Fall. Check out Goodwill to stay warm going forward!
