Shopping at our Columbia Pike location, I saw brand new tags on today’s My Goodwill Find peeking their way through a rack of other beautiful dresses on a warm Friday evening. When I saw the tags, I had to inquire further! And girl, did I get lucky.

Today’s gem is a size 14 brand new with tags Maggy London ivory and black dress that can be worn in the day OR night. I’m all about versatility, baby! But I do see this garment being worn best in the office.

Maggy London, for those who haven’t heard of this label, is a sophisticated brand that has been around for over 35+ years designing and crafting the most elegant and gorgeous dresses for women of all shapes and sizes.

Her clothing line can be found online, or stores like Nordstrom and Belk for hundred of dollars.

The material of today’s fab find (polyester and spandex) is warm enough for the dress to be worn without a jacket. However, if it is chilly out, a pair of tights and a blazer will be just as comfortable. It’s a teeny tiny bit stretchy, but not stretchy enough to be thrown on without unzipping the zipper.

The print on this item is a gorgeous floral doily-like design that is satisfying my love and obsession with patterns, without being too tacky and wacky. The colors on this dress are neutral, making them a perfect base color for any color plays or statement jewelry.

Although the dress is patterned, I like to think of it as a canvas for fall jackets, accessories and shoes.

I imagine this dress being worn multiple ways, two being: with all black items, or bright bursts of color.

For a sleek office look, a pair of black boots, a black trench, cardigan or blazer, black tights, and a nice piece of statement jewelry would look stunning. Although a black look like this is usually worn for night events, there’s no reason why you can’t embrace this palette at work. A flowy cardigan or trench will hide curves, the dress isn’t low cut, and a pair of sassy boots will add a tiny touch of sophistication without being overtly sexy. I see this dress being worn with a gold necklace in this fashion case, and cute tiny unique stud earrings. The earrings shouldn’t overpower any wild necklace that you choose to wear — you don’t want your accessories competing with one another! If you must add color to this type of look, use your lips as a canvas. A bold lip is beautiful!

Now, let’s talk color. For a playful work outfit, a colored cardigan, blazer, or jacket will bring you to fashion star status. There’s nothing like a colorful blazer to brighten a gray fall day and bring some life into your cubicle. If wearing a black blazer, add a similar spark of color with a pair of colorful heels, or flats. And if you dare…..boots! If it works, I say, go for it! You can use jewelry to pump some color in your ensemble as well. A big fun red, pink, blue or green necklace can add another element to your already stunning look.

How would you style this dress, dear readers? Would you play with color or embrace an all black palette?
