It’s time to prep for Memorial Day weekend, fashionistas! This upcoming longer vacation weekend has been on my mind for a long time, and I CANNOT wait to prep for the festivities (which I don’t have planned yet, oops! :))
There are many things to do in the DC area during this mini break, so I’ve put together 3 outfits that I might consider wearing, depending on what I wind up doing.
Go Casual

1) Casual for a Day in DC
During the holiday weekend, I might head down to the DC museums and art galleries for a whole day of walking and exploring. You should be comfortable for this type of exclusion, so it’s important to wear things that are practical yet still stylish.
For me I’d wear a pair of high waisted comfy jeans, a basic yet stylish top like a striped tee, and a pair of stylish Nike kicks, which will enable me to walk for miles and miles.
In terms of a purse, I’d bring a tote hands down. This oversized bag will allow me to carry all my belongings, while still maintaining a small dash of flair.

2) A Flirty Stroll

For this excursion, I’d still be walking around DC, but for a long time, for example a restaurant or cafe.

Because it might be warmer outside, I’d wear a light top, whether it’s a crop tank or a tee. With either of those, a fun colored skirt will add even more brightness to a sunny day. Spring is all about adding more color to your wardrobe, and for any look, a smashing skirt might be the perfect venue to do so.

Since sneakers might not look the greatest with a skirt and top, some flat glam sandals will still be practical,  and pain-free, yet still perfect.

Barbecue or Picnic

3) A Barbecue or Picnic
After a day full of fun-in-the-sun activities, a nice picnic or barbecue will be the bow on top of an excellent day.
Since you’re not going out to the clubs, a fun colorful printed look will would be great for this type of occasion.
I’d wear a cute floral or gingham dress to either a picnic or barbecue, however, I’d rock shorts or bloomers underneath, in case any badminton or other fun games come into the mix.
As for accessories and footwear, I’d further play up the spring-to-summer vibe with open-toed shoes, a floral colorful pink or jewelry jewelry.

What do you plan on doing for Memorial Day weekend, fashionistas? What will you wear to your activities?
