Fashionistas, J. Crew is one of my all-time favorite labels. So when I find a J. Crew sweater on the racks of Goodwill, my heart always skips a beat… I get so excited!

When I saw this striped beauty being put out on the sales floor, I knew I had to try it on.

While it did not quite fit me, I couldn’t part ways with it. Instead I have it for you so we can all swoon over it together!

This edition of #MyGoodwillFind features a warm cranberry sweater with dusty blue stripes in a size small. The long sleeves hit the wrist with the actual length hitting the waist. The neck is a crew neck style.

One of the shoulders is decorated with dark bronze nautical buttons, channeling the inner cruise side of a fashionista.

At J. Crew, this gem would have originally been sold for upwards of $120.

With this cozy cashmere sweater I’d once again embrace the nautical vibe, similar to the look I recommended with a previous Brooks Brothers find.

To keep warmer in this quickly approaching DC winter cold weather, I’d pair this sweater with straight-legged slacks in gray or navy blue. The straight leg is easy to put on during the winter and allows for layering underneath. If desired (and there’s room), you can wear a pair of leggings underneath looser pants for added warmth.

Or, if you’re looking for a casual and comfy look, pair with looser boyfriend jeans.

Winter Prep

While this sweater could stand on its own, I’d wear a statement bauble necklace and layer a collared shirt underneath. It will add warmth as well as another element to the look. Chambray, plaid… many winter seasonal patterns would look cute with these stripes. And don’t worry about some clashing pattern mixing – it’s makes the outfit all the more unique!

In terms of footwear, I’m always recommending boots. But for this particular look let’s embrace the prep with neutral patent or matte leather loafers. I’ve seen these sold at DC Goodwill stores for under $10 a pair, making them an easy find and affordable style of timeless footwear.

How would you style this winter J. Crew cashmere striped sweater, fashionistas?
