Dearest fashionistas, last weekend I learned something new: shop at Goodwill on July 4th. Not only does each store in the area have a unique deal, but they are also pretty empty in the morning, leaving all the gems to be scored by us fashion fans!
I ventured to Rockville and Gaithersburg Goodwill stores during my morning outing, and let me tell you something, I hit the jackpot.
Along with finding stylish and on-trend clothing blouses and dresses by brands like Free People, BCBG and Trina Turk, I picked up not one, but THREE pairs of shoes all totaling close to $700 at full retail price. Do I have you hooked yet? Let me know you what I found!
1.) Like New Tory Burch Reva Flats
Tory Burch’s timeless and classic Reva flats have been all the rage for almost 5 years now and they certainly will not be going out of style anytime soon. As a metro commuter for work, I always need a pair of flats that are both business casual and comfortable to wear while walking on the metro platform. These always save the leaving, giving me a lighter load to carry to work and a higher end look that turns heads.
I could not believe my eyes when I found a pair of these like new at the Gaithersburg spot – for only about $20! These retail for over $150.
2.) Ash Wedge Sneakers
Wedge sneakers are the best type of footwear to wear as a more casual practical look that has notes of sass and sophistication. I have one pair I wear often with a loose band tee and skinny jeans….and I swear by them. They always give me a little height but also keep my outfits on the more playful side, but not fancy.
I found this pair of designer navy blue lace-up and velcro Ash sneakers at the Rockville spot, waiting to be picked up at their price tag cost of $12. At Saks, a pair of shoes by this brand easily goes for $200+. Can you believe that? They were just sitting out in the open, waiting to be taken home by me!
3.) Jeremy Scott Winged Adidas
Jeremy Scott is not a designer for everyone- his styles are bold and showy, his prints are saturated and graphic, and his overall aesthetic is avant garde. Most of his design hark back to 80’s style, while infusing a modern pop art twist.
Because his styles of clothing and footwear are so unique, almost like works of art, his designs can be harder to find at a low price. But I found pair of his shoes at the Rockville store for under $20.
These classic and iconic winged $220+ Jeremy Scott x Adidas sneakers are the right pair of shoes for someone who loves a great shoe, but doesn’t mind being the center of attention.
What’s your favorite pair of these, fashionistas? Have you found any kicks recently that made you jump for joy?
