I consider thrift shopping at Goodwill a treasure hunt each time I enter the front doors. Part of the thrill is not knowing the items that await you at low prices. However, each item donated is not authentic, and it is not Goodwill’s responsibility to authenticate items that are offered in their retail locations. It is your own responsibility to determine if the item is worth your purchase.
Last weekend, I was browsing the handbag section and noticed a vintage Coach Legacy purse hanging on the rack. I am a lover of all things vintage Coach.
Coach handbags are a great addition to any closet; however, finding vintage Coach is extra special. Also, finding vintage Coach in a thrift store is wonderful because the prices can be expensive because of the value. I was excited and ran over to the purse. It was in good condition and a complete steal for $19.99. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the purse was not an authentic Coach.
All Coach bags have an embossed seal with a serial number on the inside flap and pocket. However, it did not read Coach. I did not purchase the purse, but it was in great condition.

Each person is capable of using their resources to be able to authenticate items before purchasing from Goodwill.
On the other hand, I have found many authentic items at Goodwill from various designer brands.
Remember to do your own research while shopping at Goodwill. You’ll never know what you may find!
