I’m finally accepting the reality that the warm weather and summer activities have come to an end. This means that I will be spending a good amount of time in my apartment, which is a great thing. Therefore, I decided to take up reading; however, I did not realize how expensive books can be.

Have you ever seen the book section at any Greater Washington Goodwill store? They are packed with literally tons of books for all interests for great prices. Visiting that section has become a part of each Goodwill visit to each store.

Most books that pique my interest include subjects around fashion, style, affirmations, spirituality, and biographies.

During a recent visit, I found Michelle Obama’s Becoming and Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women by Kate Northrup. Hardbook books are $1.99, and paperback books are $.99, which is a steal.

If you have not picked a cold weather activity such as crocheting or puzzles, I suggest visiting Goodwill to save money and support the nonprofit’s mission to transform lives and communities through the power of education and employment.
