This past weekend, Prince George’s County got its very first DC Goodwill location in Bowie, MD, and let me tell you, the grand opening was off the chain!
Upon arriving at the store a little bit before its opening, my excitement hit an all-time high when I saw an eager line of Goodwill lovers ready to celebrate the special day.
Once 9 AM hit, the doors opened and there was a celebratory ribbon cutting to officially kick off the new location, which was led by the CEO of DC Goodwill stores, Catherine Meloy, as well as the Mayor of Bowie. It was quite the celebration!
Once the ribbon was cut, it was time to shop!
This location is a bit smaller than the one in Dale City, VA, but you can say they are just about the same size.
Athletic shoes!
There were racks upon racks of amazing name brand and designer clothes, shelves upon shelves of cool housewares, and a large furniture section. Plus the shoe area…..don’t even get me started. Everything was organized by type of shoe and size!
These mid century modern lamps were stellar as well.
While venturing throughout the store, I saw some familiar faces celebrating the opening as well! DC Goodwill’s good friend and vintage expert, Lerkia, of Modage Style, found these gems! Seriously, this vintage hat is the bomb.

I found a great assortment of graphic tees and sweatshirts from Free People, and J.Crew. This season, I plan on wearing them under blazers with chunky necklaces.

What I’m most excited about is all the name brands and designers goods that I picked up. I swear, I must’ve found over $500 worth of goods – each item being as high as $6. My favorite gems were from some of my most desired designers like Rag & Bone and Helmut Lang – both more modern sleekly cut labels. I also got some Kate Spade too. 🙂
Although I scored mostly fashion goods, I did pick up a $30 candle for under $5! It smells sooooooo amazing. I can’t wait to use it at home!

When it was time to depart the event, I was exhausted from excitement and fun. But as you can see I found stellar pieces! All are perfect for work or the weekend. I can’t wait to rock them!
