A hopefully not too frosty February 2025 to you, my fellow gifted thrifters and thrifty gifters! Third and last month of Winter, Sh’vat of 5785, Black History and Jewish Disability Month. Month of Imbolc and Saint Brigid’s Day, Groundhog Day, Tu BiShvat (Jewish tree holiday), Valentines Day, and Presidents Day.
It’s time to tell you about my Black Friday visit to my Goodwill here in Gaithersburg! Because it’s a Greatwill, and I can walk there from my house – though I usually have to Lyft back, because I thrift so many great things. And the Color Of The Week was my favorite color, purple (morado).
I schlep everything home in my reusable Goodwill shopping bags – have you gotten yours yet?
This time, I got a mermaid-tail wall shelf (!), a seashell-themed tissue box cover for my bathroom, two bags, fancy taper candles for Shabbat, four beautiful dresses, two tops, a fabulous ombre rainbow sarong / scarf / tablecloth, and some gifts for my spouse and other family members. Here is my festively full cart.
And of course I scoped out the seashore items, because I adore the shore. There was a mermaid-y dress, bag and snowglobe…
…a beachy photo, shadowbox, and binder…
…and a starfish lamp, crab sculpture, dolphin tchotchke, and seaglass!
I’m looking forward to my first Spring 2025 visit! In the meantime, I’ll be looking at DC Goodwill’s Shop Goodwill site. And working on my March post for you.vmonth – I haven’t decided on my topic yet, but as always I’ll be showing you some special items from one of my specialities.
