I will absolutely embrace every opportunity to find a reason to thrift, and setting thrift New Year’s goals is the perfect time to add more to my list of justifications.

My lifelong passion for thrifting continues to inspire me. Every Goodwill visit delivers a rewarding thrill and creative energy that keeps me coming back, no matter the location. To top it off, nothing feels more gratifying than knowing that Goodwill, a local nonprofit, helps the community and the planet through their operations. There is so much power in a purchase when choosing Goodwill.

That being said, I am over the moon to hear that multiple new Goodwill locations are opening up near me from winter through the fresh spring season! Both Goodwill of Greater Washington and the Rappahannock Goodwill nonprofits are opening their doors to bright retail stores to serve the needs of their local communities.

February:

The Goodwill of Rappahannock is hosting a Grand Opening of their England Run / Stafford location early in the month. Their Facebook says, “Our new England Run Goodwill Store & Donation Center will now open in February 2026. We’re taking a little extra time to finish important final details so everything is ready to welcome you properly.” Follow their social media pages for more updates: https://www.facebook.com/FredGoodwill/photos/-update-grand-opening-england-run-our-new-england-run-goodwill-store-donation-ce/2009962396480572/

Spring:

Goodwill of Greater Washington is opening not one but two new locations in Montgomery County, MD – Rockville and Germantown.

Goodwill of Greater Washington’s email newsletter and website exclaim, “Our new retail and donation centers will open in Montrose Crossing Shopping Center, Rockville, MD, and in Germantown, MD. The Rockville location will be our third in the area, while Germantown will be our first in Montgomery County’s northern region. Both locations are expected to attract high foot traffic from donors and shoppers.”

Will you join me as I explore these new nonprofit locations? I look forward to discovering the treasures at the new Goodwill stores that also empower communities!
