Last year, I renovated my Mom’s bathroom, and I decided to go with a gray, silver, and white color scheme.
I searched every Goodwill location in the DC area looking for bathroom wall decor and accessories, but I didn’t find anything that matched my color scheme. I never find what I’m looking for until I’m no longer looking for it, lol! That’s usually how thrifting works for me; I find the best stuff spontaneously.
Fast forward to a few days ago, on my way home from work, I stopped at the Goodwill in Clinton, MD, 10 minutes before closing. I had a gut feeling to check out the wall decor section. My gut did not lead me astray. I found these two canvas wall art pieces perfect for my mom’s bathroom.
On my way to the register, I took a quick spin through the housewares section and found a hand towel stand and two short glass vases that I could use for cotton balls and Q-tips.
I was so surprised I found these items in 10 minutes. I normally need a minimum of 30 minutes to scope out the store.
Have you ever been thrifting and had a gut feeling something was waiting for you? That’s the thrift store talking to you, as long as you listen and keep an open mind. You will find exactly what you need.
