Each time I travel, thrifting is always a part of the itinerary! I am interested in the layout and items available at local nonprofit thrift stores, especially Goodwill.

Summertime in Chicago is gorgeous. The riverwalk, sights, and attractions are plentiful and beautiful. However, thrifting is always on my mind.

I traveled out to one of the Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago locations to spot some finds. After a quick Uber ride, I arrived in front of the Washington Blvd. location. The store was crowded for a Tuesday afternoon and filled with finds. It was very organized and offered Color of the Week items for 50% off of the donated price.

One of my favorite finds that caught my eye was a witty graphic nightshirt that says One Night Stand with a bedroom nightstand with books and a lamp. The message tickled my funny bone, and the material was soft and comforting. I also found a few t-shirts and a pre-loved Rebecca Minkoff purse for 50% off.

The best part of the store was the fluorescent Goodwill sign, which I had to snap a few pictures of along my travels. Even funnier, my sequin top matched the sign perfectly.

All in all, I enjoyed my thrifting experience in Chicago and can’t wait to go back for more treasures. If thrifting is not part of your travel itinerary, I suggest you add it!
