On the last Saturday of August, a bunch of local Goodwill fashionistas of all ages hit up one of the less talked about Goodwills; the Falls Church store located on Annandale Rd. The exterior is fresh and inviting, with the inside being extremely organized. The staff at this particular spot is always especially friendly when I visit and is always helping me find what I need.
As usual, new and familiar faces came out to this morning Meetup, totaling about 20 attendees give or take.
The morning started out with a full table of treats for all of our fashionistas. Racks were stocked with amazing finds, and the store was open an hour early only for us shoppers! And guess what? We got to take advantage of Goodwill’s Super Saturday 50% sale. What a treat!
When I first entered the store, I spotted this 1950’s vintage trunk with drawers and hangers inside. For only $50, it was quite a steal. I wish it would fit in my car so I could take it home!
Once the Meetup started, shoppers instantly hit the racks. Karen, the amazing former DCGF came out to support! I was so happy to see her – it made me extremely happy!
Pharice, a friend and fellow fashionista that I’ve met at past Meetups came out and found this sassy hat, a Michael Kors bag, and Betsey Johnson heels. She spent under $200 on her trip – which was below her daily Goodwill budget. You go, girl!
Another fashionista, Tonya, picked up these barely worn Frye motorcycle boots for under $20. Can you believe it?! These usually retail for $200+.
And here’s Pharice’s Michael Kors bag, hiding inside the untouched dust bag. This is what dreams are made of!
Here are some of my Goodwill girls! These three lovely ladies come to all of the Meetups and I’m so happy I’ve gotten the chance to know them! I love how Goodwill has united this shopping community.
Marikia and Lina, two other Meetup regulars, are also super fun to shop with. They both have an eye for great finds and always help me find small cute items that always fit me.
Check out Lina’s sequin patriotic hat! It’s too funny but oddly cute and trendy 😉
Rock it, Pharice! Those Betsey Johnson heels were made for your feet!
A new fashionista to the Goodwill Meetup scene took home a haul of handbags including this leather Coach backpack and vintage Dooney bag….all for under $20! She got to the purses before me, hehe.
Along with vintage handbags, this fashionista picked up this unique sweater that looks like it could have come off the runway.
So at this particular Meetup, I had more fun helping my fellow fashionistas shop, but I did take home some gems, too. Not as many as I usually do, but here are a few highlights of my haul.
This kitschy lucky waving kitty HAD to come home with me…for reasons I don’t know. It was just calling my name. And for under $5, how could I resist!? I already have it parked on my dresser. 🙂
Athleta is a favorite activewear brand of mine, so I had to snag this brand new bikini top for under $5. I know it’s the end of summer, but how could I pass up an item that fit me that was originally at least $40!?
To enhance my work wardrobe, I took this ruffled beauty off the mannequin. I’ve already worn this BCBG chartreuse sleeveless blouse to work with gold wedges and skinny jeans from Goodwill.
Finally, I wanted to highlight this set of 6 Pier 1 Import plates that were a buck a pop. The bottom each plate had tags stating that they were EACH $10. But, I scored a full set of $60 plates for only $6! What a steal.
Hope you enjoyed this recap, dearest readers! Come to our next Meetup if you couldn’t make it to this one! I assure you, you won’t be disappointed. The next one is Saturday, September 24th at the brand new Clinton, MD spot. You can sign-up for our Meetup group here! <3
