It’s the season of picnics! On my calendar for June and July, I have multiple picnics lined up with friends all across the DC area, to enjoy the summer sun and chow down on some tasty treats.
While I like to keep it more casual at picnics, it’s nice to dress up, put on a cute dress and rock some sassy shoes.
Today’s #MyGoodwillFind is the perfect kind of dress for this type of occasion – it’s breezy and has a fun stripped pattern.

This Medium teal, burnt orange, and weigh patterned beauty is by a brand called Maude, a boutique label that has been around since 2007, who specializes in creating and crafting the funkiest of dresses. It has a beautiful v-neck line with short sleeves and an elastic waist that cinches at your natural hips. At original price, their gems usually go for around $70-$80. So today’s find is a steal!
What I love most about this dress (and I’m sure you might feel the same), is the fun and sassy pattern. It’s unique, but not way too out there, for those who like to keep it a bit subtle.
For a picnic, I’d pair this dress with a flirty pair of nude wedges or sandals. The nude color will allow the colors on the dress to pop, while still allowing you to be playful and cute with the actual style of the dress.
If you don’t have any nude heels (which you can buy at Goodwill for under $10, woo!), a pair of sassy black sandals or even a mustard yellow could work as well. Luckily, since the colors in this dress are a tad subtle, you have a lot of room to play around with.

In terms of color gold is screaming at me. Whether in a necklace, bracelet or ring, the color gold will look fabulous with this warmer toned dress.
Because the neckline of the dress is cut like a V, a bib-style necklace will do you wonders and create a nice rounded visual, in contrast to the straight lines in the V.
If you want to be a little more bold, a necklace with a little bit of color or black will add another level of visual diversity and interest.
Finally, every cute dress needs a good handbag. And with this dress, a nice woven cross body will be practical, yet still summery for a warm and light-hearted picnic. I’ve found countless woven bags at Goodwill….you don’t even want to see my collection!
Fashionistas, how would you wear this dress to a picnic? Would you add more colors, or keep it neutral?
