Finding Your Good and Greater Washington Goodwill host monthly meetups for thrift enthusiasts to shop in a chosen location an hour before the store opens. This month, the newest Goodwill location on New York Ave in Washington, DC, was that chosen location.
I was chosen to curate a clothing rack of items from the store for the participants to shop from. Other influencers also selected items for their clothing racks. By the time the event started at 8:00 a.m., there was a long line of excited people waiting to get inside. Carolyn, the Marketing Director, shared information about Goodwill and passed out exclusive coupons to use while shopping.
My rack was who full of items perfect for any curvy woman looking to accentuate her body and add to her confidence. There were jackets, dresses and sweatshirts for all. Personalized tags with my picture and Instagram handle were so cute and attached to each item for further engagement.
I saw familiar faces and met new ones as we shopped and enjoyed each other’s company. I even scored items selected from other racks. As a solo thrifter, it is fun to thrift with others who enjoy the treasure hunt that is thrifting. I am super excited to participate in upcoming events with Goodwill and Finding Your Good!
