My baby brother gifted me a record player for my birthday a few months ago. It’s so beautiful and adds more aesthetic to my space. The record player takes me back to childhood memories of sitting on my grandparent’s living room floor while listening to hits such as Michael Jackson’s Bad album.
My brother also gifted me with two full albums, but I was on a search to find more to play. I was unaware that finding vinyl records in good condition is challenging since they can be viewed as collector’s items in any collection.
However, I was a woman on a mission.
During a recent trip to visit my family in Pennsylvania, my mother and I visited a local nonprofit Goodwill store in Chadds Ford just to browse. However, I was not ready for what I found.
There were literally hundreds of records in the store. I couldn’t believe it! A few other patrons were on the floor for over 30 minutes searching for albums that spoke to us.
I found gems such as a four-album set of the Best of Motown, Tender Love by Force M.D.’s, and the Breakfast at Tiffany’s soundtrack. The best part is that they were $3.99 each! I cannot wait to return to continue to build my collection!
Goodwill scores again!!!
