Looking through the dress section of my closet is like taking a walk down memory lane. Because during the summer, dear readers, there’s pretty much only one thing I want to wear, and that’s a sundress. There’s the fitted green and white H&M halter dress I wore every chance I got in the summer of 2008, the Urban Outfitters polka dot dress I picked up at Goodwill and wore basically nonstop in the summer of 2013, and last year’s favorite, the lace back Forever 21 mini dress that showed up in far too many of my pictures from the summer. If you’re looking for your summer dress of 2015, look no further!
I am in love with this gorgeous Hazel dress! Let’s start from the top and work our way down, shall we? I love the scoop neck because it’s the most versatile for wearing a necklace. You could try a chunky statement necklace, or a small chain, and both would look equally good. The straps are just big enough to hide your bra straps so you won’t have to deal with a strapless. My favorite part of this whole dress is the collar! It’s such a cute detail and adds that little something that makes the dress look more polished. Without the lace, it’d just be your basic summer dress, but the lace adds a great texture. The print, a mix of butterflies and flowers, screams summer, but not in a scary, your grandma would wear it kind of way. This sheath dress will hit you right under your rib cage, so it’s going to really slim your waist. Last but not least, the A line style slightly ruffled hem gives the dress a summery feel that’s fun, without being too little girl.
You know I’m all about getting as many wears as possible with my clothes and that’s going to be super easy with this dress. You can easily dress it up for a summer wedding or going out with the girls for cocktails. I love roof top happy hours and this dress is the perfect thing to wear. Just add a sexy pair of heels, a couple coordinated, but not matchy matchy pieces of jewelry, and a bold red lip and you’ll be turning heads all night. This dress’ll easily go from day to night with just a few accessory swaps. Trade your heels for espadrilles, your lip stick for lip balm, and your jewelry for a canvas tote and you’re ready to hit up your local farmer’s market.
How would you style this dress fellow fashionistas?
