Fashionistas, now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s the holiday season. And you know what that means? Office holiday parties are coming up quickly!
My work’s office holiday party is scheduled for early December so it’s time for me to start figuring out what to wear to the festive shindig. All I know so far is that the theme might be classic cocktail attire, with a slight focus on glitz and glamour. At this party, I don’t feel a need to entirely “dress to impress” since I know all my coworkers. However, I still want to look on point so that I can dance the night away in style and confidence.
For the work event, I’m thinking that I could dress in one of two ways: rocking a little black dress or a vintage playful style with a pop of color. These two types of dresses are always classic. They come in many styles and sizes allowing the options to be endless.
I recommend every fashionista consider these two styles for their parties:
1.) The Little Black Dress
For this holiday look, I’m using a lacey black material as a canvas for pops of color and glitzy notes. What’s great about the color black is that it always looks effortlessly chic and silhouettes the body in a sophisticated manner.
While you can go sleeveless, I’m considering this long-sleeved boutique dress as an option because it’s warm for the weather, yet still flirty and flattering. The sleeves are see-through lace and are fashioned into flowy bell sleeves.
What I love most about this dress is the slight v-neck style at the top. Usually, I’d opt for shift-style or boat neck dresses, so this particular cut is a little out of my comfort zone.
2.) Vintage Inspired Dress with Lace and Stripes
Since holiday parties are a place to be playful, I recommend wearing a more playful dress that reflects your’s personality. You know I’m a sucker for both black and stripes so this short-sleeved dress from Goodwill is something I might wear again this year.
My favorite parts of this whole look are the clutch and the J. Crew pink bauble necklace. These two treasures just go to show that accessories can transform a look with last minute details. The snake on the clutch adds a bit of glam and edge. The glitzy pink necklace is a formal yet fun accessory. Without the two, my dress + tights might’ve looked a little too ordinary.
What are you going to consider wearing to your office holiday party, fashionistas?
