Happy Pesach (Passover), Easter, Peaster and Eastover season 5785/2025, my fellow gifted thrifters and thrifty gifters, from my interfaith family and I!

It’s April – second month of Spring, Nisan and Iyyar, Arab American Month.  Month of April Fools Day, Pesach (Passover), Holy Week, Tax Day, NonBinary Parents Day, Easter Sunday and Monday, Earth Day, and Yom HaShoah (a Holocaust remembrance day).

Nu, my post title is a joke AND a fact – there is so much good Judaica at Goodwill of Greater Washington, online and off, for the holidays and year round.  And today, as is tradition for big Jewish holiday months, I’m going to show you some of it.  First off all, both of my seder plates are from Goodwill:

And I considered trying to add a third last month:

Vintage Brass Enamel Ornate Passover Plate

The Torah is central to Judaism all year, and a mini scroll like this is high on my wish list; we carry the scroll in synagogue every Shabbat, and in a special way on the holiday of Simchat Torah in the Fall.

I’ll talk more about Hanukkah menorahs (newer, nine lights) in December, but you should keep an eye out for them all year; the two other items have Temple menorahs (older, seven lights), which are a year round symbol.

Circling back to synagogues, I would have been very tempted by this one in person.

Little Synagogue On The Prairie

DC Goodwill’s Shop Goodwill site has had so much hamsa jewelry just this year that I can’t show you all of it!  Which is not unusual – at least once I’ve done a post here all about hamsas.  This is one listing, and I encourage you to check out two, three, four, five, six, seven and eight.

It’s a similar story with their Magen David jewels!  I’ll show you this one, and you can surf through to two, three, four, five, six and seven.

Last but not least, I saw two Judaica items recently at my Goodwill right here in Gaithersburg.  Yet another Magen!  And two hors d’oeuvres dishes originally intended for Christmas joy; I actually use “O” and “Y” Xmas stocking hangers from my Buy Nothing group in my annual Chrismukkah tablescape.

Salutations for the rest of your Spring.  Meet me here next month.  I’ll be talking about mermaids for MerMay.
