Having a dedicated learning space in your home is important. You don’t need an entire extra room to turn into a “classroom.” A small table or desk with good lighting is enough. A special spot helps your student get into the right mindset to be ready to work when they sit down there every day.

I love pretty flowers! But I don’t have much of a green thumb when it comes to actually growing them. This fun upcycled flower garden – made from items I found at my local Goodwill store – adds a bit of color to a blah corner of my yard.

As I was working on my Spring Home Refresh Checklist last month, I looked around my living room and realized there are a lot of little pieces of Goodwill right here. I rarely buy anything brand-new for my home. Between Goodwill, yard sales and items given to me over the years, I don’t really need to.

Maybe it is time to give your home a spring refresh.

With a little re-arranging—and thinking outside of “normal” decorating rules—you can decorate your home in a way that is functional for your family and perfectly reflects your style.
