An opulent October 2024, my fellow gifted thrifters and thrifty gifters!  Second month of Fall, Elul and Tishrei, LGBTQ+ History Month and the second half of Latinx Month!  Month of Rosh Hashanah, the Days of Awe, Coming Out Day, Yom Kippur, Indigenous Peoples Day, Sukkot, Pronouns Day, Simchat Torah, Shemini Atzeret, Intersex Day, and Halloween!

This month, I’m going to talk about dragons!  As I do here every Fall.  I identify with, love and collect them.  I was born in the 1976 Year of the Fire Dragon, and 2024 is a Year of the Wood Dragon.  A few times a year, I present a Dragon Day on my social media, where all of my posts are dragon-themed (I also do Lizard Days).

Nu, because so many people love dragons, thrifting dragon items can be quite competitive and otherwise challenging.  But the size of the dragon fandom also means there’s a huge quantity, quality and diversity of dragon items on the thrifting market.  I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by the many fabulous dragon items I’ve seen and thrifted, offline and on – especially at Goodwill of Greater Washington, and ShopGoodwill.com.

Here are four pieces of dragon-themed clothing I saw at my local Goodwill (Gaithersburg) recently.

[dragon items on DC Goodwill’s Shop Goodwill site recently that I can’t include all the photos!  But of course I’m going to show you the six jewelry items (three brooches, two pendants, and a pair of earrings).

Nu, I could discuss dragons all day, but I don’t want this post to…drag on.  So, meet me back here next month, and I’ll tell you about my latest visit to my local Goodwill!  And may the rest of your October overflow with thrifty treats.
