As we wrapped up our cocktail hour, balancing wine glasses, plates and snack bowls to carry back inside, my husband commented that it would be really nice to have a tray for evenings like this.

My superpower is finding old furniture that nobody loves anymore and making it beautiful—and useful—again. Goodwill is my favorite place to find furniture. I love that instead of throwing it away to take up space in a landfill, the prior owners took the time to donate it so somebody else can have the chance to enjoy it.

I don’t worry too much about being perfect in my painting or my lettering. I’m never perfect! So why bother stressing about it? I like the laid-back boho vibe of the sign. It fits my style and the eclectic look I’m trying to create in my home.

A bulletin board is a great way to display photos and other mementos. But it doesn’t have to be boring! With a little paint, fabric, and ribbon, I customized a bulletin board from Goodwill into a fun, colorful memory board. You can too!
