When I was invited to attend the recent grand opening of the newest Goodwill in Sterling/Dulles, I literally could not respond YES fast enough!  Of course, I had to drive over there a few days before the opening just to see this gorgeous stand-alone store (and to find out that there is coffee nearby).  Opening Day was amazing with incredible crowds (the checkout line was up to 2 hours long, but we all waited and made new friends), the staff was beyond upbeat and friendly, and the selection was UNBELIEVABLE.  If you haven’t gone yet, this is a must-visit.  Here are my Top 3 reasons to go soon.

Right now, let’s share some queer joy by looking at some of the recent rainbow items on Goodwill of Greater Washington’s ShopGoodwill.com site – a dress (which I’d wear), a flannel (which my spouse would), shoes (the first pair of which I can totally see my editor in), jewelry (I got my rainbow engagement ring at Shop Goodwill), and a backpack (there’s a famous drag queen named Jan Sport), oh my!

April 13th was a great day in the books! I was invited to participate in the grand opening of the new Sterling retail store. The store was jam-packed with great finds, from shoes to home decor to purses. Upon arriving at the store at 8:00 a.m., there was already a line of people eagerly waiting to shop at the new store, which did not open until 10:00 a.m. Talk about dedication!
