Behind the Curve: Why Men Need to Start Thrifting

If you want to get a sense of how I dressed prior to thrifting, just Google “stock photo Millennial guy cardigan.” (I just did, and oof, that was me.) Clearly my closet needed an overhaul. But intense wardrobe surgery didn’t happen in one day. When I look at my closet now, I still think it needs an overhaul. In the meantime, getting dressed for work every day has to go on.

The NYC Goodwill Loves Polka Dots As Much As I Do!

A few weekends ago, my girl Jennifer and I ventured to the Big Apple for a time filled with good food, laughter, and thrift shopping (of course!). New York is my happy place and thrifting is actually quite different there.

DIY: Upcycle a Chandelier Into a Bird Feeder

Give your winged friends the royal treatment by upcycling an old chandelier into a show-stopping—and feather-stopping—bird feeder! This week’s DIY project is all about creating a piece of art for your garden that also serves a great function. The birdseed you provide will be even more tasty in this glammed-up feeder. It will make your local birds invite others to join them in your yard!

3 Ways to Have An Effective Luxury & Vintage Thrift Haul

For the longest time wrapping my head around how to do a haul of any kind did not make sense. However, when I became intimate with the thrifting community, I began to realize doing hauls is an art. It takes a few artistic ingredients to do a haul (especially if it luxury or vintage). Don’t worry, I am about to make you a luxury and vintage thrift haul insider.

DIY: Upcycle Flatware Into “Pizzazz-ware”

Take the flat out of your flatware by trying a spray paint transformation! With a little bit of paint, some rubber bands and painter’s tape, you can easily turn everyday forks, spoons, knives and more into handheld works of art. With this eye-catching DIY project, you can tailor your utensils to match any color scheme and also turn mismatched pieces into a one-of-a-kind set. For just a few dollars, you will create pieces that will be the talk around the table (socially distanced, of course!). These make great gifts when you pick the recipient’s favorite colors too. Once you see the final look, you will want to upcycle a set for yourself!

Yes, Get Those Clip-On Earrings.

Yes, Get Those Clip-On Earrings.

As I have built up my thrifting muscle and learned to love vintage, I have come across hundreds of more clip-ons than I ever did in my previous fast-fashion life. At first, I became more used to them simply because I kept seeing them in the shops I was now visiting. Then I began to notice more and more of the earrings that caught my eye were vintage pieces, and most of them had clip-on backs. At that point, I dipped my toe and started to buy and wear them. I was shocked by how comfortable most of them were, and how practical they were for larger, heavier designs in particular. Since then, I’ve never looked back.

How To Teach Your Friends The Importance Of Thrifting

How To Teach Your Friends The Importance Of Thrifting

Thrifting for years has been something I do on my own. It is my way to think, decompress, and be one with my thoughts. Often when I shop with others, I don’t feel at peace or feel rushed. However, as of late when I go thrifting with friends, I enjoy it much more. What has changed you ask? Well, I have begun educating my friends on why thrifting is important and a valuable art to me. I have done this by extending three things to my friends.

Fly Thrifted Outfit for Under 30 Bucks!

This past weekend, I hung out with friends in Baltimore. As usual, the hardest decision was to figure out what to wear for the event! These are my best girls, so I knew shopping would be included. We visited a high end consignment store in Timonium, MD, a private shopping experience, and finished with dinner.
